Disclaimers & Limitations

Edited

IMPORTANT: Please review these policies and your proofs carefully prior to approving a proof for production.

Artwork/Design Ownership Policy:

You attest that you have the right to print your artwork and you give us the permission to print your artwork in order to complete your order. The artwork is always the intellectual property of the customer but any files created by us (such as proofs) are the property of UltraPress.

Blank Garment Defects:

We will issue you a refund per item for any garments that contain minor defects like holes, discoloration, dirty, etc. In the extremely unlikely case that you received less items than what you ordered, you will be partially refunded for those missing or defective items.

We do not provide makeup orders. If you require a firm quantity, we recommend that you order extras to cover rare cases of garment defects.

Once you select and purchase a garment, you are purchasing it as is. We will not provide any credits, partial refunds, or adjustment of any sort if you are unhappy with the garment that you ordered due to the construction, fabric, fit, sizing of the garment.

Many of the blank garments in our catalog are value/budget options and are priced accordingly. If you are particular, require specific features and/or have other concerns about quality, please email us for further information. We may be able to assist in providing a blank sample before you make your custom purchase.

Screenprint Limitations:

  • We do not print halftones/gradients/ombre effects.

  • We are limited to a minimum of 1.5 pts in the lines and other graphical elements of your design. This applies to both positive and negative space.

  • This means that really small/fine details that are below 1.5 pt when sized to your print may not always come out cleanly on the final print.

  • If you submit a high resolution vector file with graphical elements smaller than 1.5 pts, we are not able to manually resize. In cases like these, your proofs will include a disclaimer.

  • For ink colors, we only print using our list of house coated Pantone colors and will match your design’s colors as closely as possible to our available options.

  • If your desired ink color falls outside of our house list, we are not able to match to a custom Pantone.

Print Placement Limitations:

  • We only print on the front and back. We do not provide sleeve printing services, or other specialty areas.

  • Our maximum print dimensions on most adult unisex garments is 12” wide x 15” tall.

  • For youth garments, we are limited to 9” wide x 12” tall.

  • If your order contains both adult and youth garments, we are limited to a maximum of 9” wide x 12” tall in order to fit your design on youth shirts.

  • If you would like different print dimensions for adult and youth, please place separate orders.

Decoration Tolerance:

Due to physically sewn variances in blank garments and styles, your printed design may have a tolerance of 0.5" compared to your final approved proofs, in any direction. Prints within that range will not be considered misprinted.

Ink Color Variance:

Due to differences in digital computer monitors, how ink colors are displayed on your proofs and how they are physically printed will not be a perfect match. Physically printed ink colors may differ by up to one shade.

We have a set list of house ink colors that we use. Each ink color within our house list will have a specific Pantone code. We will list the exact Pantone code from our house ink colors that we will use to print your design, on your proof. During the proofing process, our graphic artists will match your artwork's ink colors to the closest ink color from our house Pantone list. Because we are matching your colors in your design to our house list, there may be shade differences.

We do not custom match colors from your design to other specific Pantone ink codes that are not found in our house list.

There may also be slight differences and ink color variances with reorders.

Underbase:

In screenprinting, underbases are a vital quality improvement for dark garments, as they act as a primer that the actual ink color is laid on top of. This improves vibrancy, contrast and overall quality.

We only underbase dark garments, not light. As a result, there may be ink color shade differences for the same ink color when printed on a dark garment vs light.

If you order both dark and light garments with the same design and would like the ink colors to look the exact same, please ensure they are ordered together as part of the same order to ensure the same underbased print process is applied to both. If both garment colors contain the same SKU* and are part of the same order, we will underbase the light garment as well.

A SKU is a unique five digit code (for example "UP-SP-12345") found in the upper right hand corner of your proofs.

Print Distortion:

Some prints may appear to be stretched or distorted prior to washing them for the first time. This is generally due to the fact that temporary tack/glue is used to adhere the garments to the machine during printing. When the shirts are pulled off the glued boards, they may stretch slightly. This is more common on youth and ladies sized garments and stretchy and/or thin materials. That distortion should disappear once garments are washed.

Orders with Multiple Blank Garment Material Types:

Print quality may differ from one garment to another due to the effect inks have on different material types. Within an order you might see differences in print color and texture as well as the appearance of pinholes and gaps in the print due to running one job on multiple materials.
